Wedding Wednesday: Doing it twice makes it twice as nice...aka let's rehearse this bad boy

Again, if you have not been keeping up with my blog then I'll catch you up.  I'm reflecting on my wedding because it was fantastic and I wanna.

So far here's what you've missed:
1.  Tailgate Couples Shower
2.  Tea Party Bridal Shower
3.  Monograms & Mimosas Bridal Shower
4.  The Paper
5.  Night one of Wedding Weekend - aka Wedding Party Trivia Showdown
6.  Day two of Wedding Weekend - aka Wedding Party Field Day

AND NOW....the rehearsal dinner.

When my husband and I got engaged, I knew exactly what kind of rehearsal dinner I wanted.  Low key, Southern, and delicious.  So here's what we came up with...SHAGGING, OYSTERS, & BEAUFORT STEW.

First we rehearsed (well Madison and I mostly played).

Go ahead and take this picture in, because she didn't make it down the aisle on the actual day.

My sweet law school pal, Tara, was my stand in bride.  My husband is awesome.

Then, we all headed back to the beach house to celebrate...

With Beaufort stew & oysters...

and a shagging instruction...

and oysters...

and some brave souls learning to shag...

and local gourmet popsicles...

Did I mention it was Flannel Friday?  LOTS AND LOTS OF FLANNEL.

And we gave out our wedding party gifts...

Here's Popsicle with his special gift.

And the ladies accepted their trivia championship trophy.  Kristin lost...hence the L for loser.

Then, we headed to the beach to release wish lanterns.

It was perfection.  Serious perfection.
I highly suggest having a laid back rehearsal dinner.  It just kicks everything off in such a fun way!

Next up....the wedding day!

Kel

Wedding Wednesday: Rehearsal Day - bridge walking and field daying

*Note: this is getting posted a day late. Whoopsie.

If you did not read my blog last Wednesday (FOR SHAME) then you won’t understand what is happening.  I’ll just RE-explain.  I’m starting to share in detail what I loved about my wedding.  To do that I have to split it into multiple blog entries.  Last week I chronicled night one in the beach house.  Today, I’m chronicling day two.

-------
DAY TWO

After one really long night of fun…so long that I got out of bed at 4:00 am to turn down the music that everyone was jamming to in the kitchen.  I need my sleep, y’all…..we started Friday early.

We had a breakfast of bagels and fruit and cereal and then headed out to the Ravenel Bridge.  When I say we, I mean my bridesmaids, my Mom, the groomsmen’s dates (who I love and adore), and my law school besties.  We all carpooled over to the bridge and took a walk to the top.  It was something we had done previously for my best friend Kristin’s wedding, and it was so fun.  I just knew I wanted to do it too.  Here’s a shot from the top.

Our car riders. :)

Then, we headed over to Mosaic in Mt. Pleasant for a bridal luncheon.  Low key, delicious food, and such good company.  Everything I would want out of it.

Meanwhile, the boys finally rolled out of bed and headed over to lunch at Poe’s on Sullivan’s Island.  If you haven’t heard of this place then you are living under a rock.  Some of the best burgers you will ever eat, and it’s steps off of the beach.  What more could you want?

Next, we all met back at the beach house for a brutally fought field day.  I got the idea from Pinterest.  I know, you aren't surprised.  I loved this idea immediately, and it was just as fun as you would think.  It was like elementary school all over, except this time you love everyone on both teams and no one is picked last.

Bride's girls against Groom's boys...pictures are self explanatory.

Four words:  girls rule, boys drool.

It was seriously so much fun, and then we headed home to get ready for one heck of a rehearsal dinner.  More about that next week!

xoxo,
Kel
